Sacred Chocolate Mint ingredients

Cacao Nibs
Maple Sugar
Cacao Butter
Peppermint Leaf
Peppermint Essential Oil

India Sunset Sacred Chocolate.

I hate to say it but Mint has been trumped. My mom and I sat outside last night watching the sunset and enjoying the incredible India Sunset that Sacred Chocolate has created! India Sunset has a little heat from the curry and ginger and it totally worked. It was really dark and rich like a little heart full of sinful  deliciousness. The best thing about the whole thing was the fact that it has Himalayan Pink Salt in it which is one of my favorite things to cook with in the whole world! I loved it and I hope you will too :) What a great company! check them out http://www.sacredchocolate.com/home.php Pictures and ingredients to India Sunset will be posted in the morning and tomorrow we'll try Coco Nibby, can't wait!

Mint Sacred Chocolate

Today you all get to live vacariously through me and have the Sacred experience. The Sacred Chocolate experience! Sacred Chocolate was kind enough to send us samples of their amazing product. If you take anything away from this blog pretty pretty please go checkout their website and order yourselves some little heart shaped pieces of heaven.
Last night my mama lou and I tried the Mint bar and it was great! Mom was a little skeptical at first because she had never tried raw chocolate before and thought it might be too bitter because it's 62 % Cacao. She said, "The chocolate itself was creamy and the mint was perfect, subtle and fresh." I think this one is great for the summer because it's so refreshing. After this I will probably need addiction counciling but for now I'm ok with that. My mom is definitely not complaining about being my taste tester. Thanks so much Sacred Chocolate! Tomorrow we'll look at India Sunset, can't wait :)

Hi from Romania!

This summer remember stay hydrated but try to use water bottles or mugs as much as possible to reduce chemicals and garbage!

That Time of the Month

So for all the ladies out there we all have that one hellacious week every month, well I have something that could make it a little better. Moon Pads! Right now pads and tampons are considered medical supplies and companies aren't required to label the ingredients they use on the box. To see for yourself just what kind of harmful chemicals there are in brands like Always and Kotex I recommend burning a brand name pad and a natural pad. The brand name pad usually burns really fast, gives off black smoke, and produces a horrible odor. The natural pad burns slowly, produces white smoke, and gives off no odor. Moon pads are kind of the same concept as cloth diapers. You machine wash them and re-use them. They are so much better for your body and protect your lady parts from harmful chemicals!

Smoothie of the Day!

Raw Organic Whey Piña Colada

6 Tbsp. Raw Organic Whey
1 cup pineapple (fresh or frozen)

1 can light coconut milk

Blend until smooth and enjoy!

How I Got Started

So I am a big The Secret Life of the American Teenager fan and a couple weeks ago I was sad it was going to be coming to a close so I got on twitter. I decided to follow the cast to see what they were like and what they were saying about the show. Naturally I followed actress Shailene Woodley @shailenewoodley. She follows some of the most incredible people. I started reading articles that they were tweeting and found a whole group of people that were talking about exactly what I was thinking! They made changing my diet so much easier with all the recipes and tips they posted. I made this blog because living in Kansas City, the barbeque capital of the world and having my diet isn't easy and I thought there might be other people in my situation. So hopefully this helps.

Hello Everyone!

Hello everyone my name is Sarah and I recently have embraced a plant-based, raw, and organic diet. I believe that as a society we need to better grasp the concept that we are a part of the Earth and this eco-system, not a just a superior species trampling it. When we were first here we survived souly on plants and animals. Today we survive on processed sugars and chemicals that are disguised to look like food. Our bodies were meant to process natural substances not foods made in labs. There are so many foods out there that until recently, I didn't even know existed, and they all come from nature. It's amazing the things our bodies can do and what our eco-system does to provide for us and all other living things. I have been very inspired by many people such as family, friends, and even celebrities. On Twitter, most of the people I follow are feminists, raw and organic chefs, people who are with Gaia, and people who believe in a healthier life style and are passionate about the eco-system as a whole. So feel free to follow me @SarahB64ku.
